The Story
This Maitland kitchen renovation is an exceptional example of modern design. Most distinct is the acid-washed concrete floor with a flat finish contrasting border in gray tones. A slender granite was chosen to top the cherry wood veneer cabinets, which reinforces the modern design. Tile in an arabesque lantern mosaic style was chosen for the backsplash in shades of white, light gray, and charcoal. Thermador® appliances include a 36” side-by-side tower refrigerator and freezer, microwave in the center island, 5-burner gas cooktop, double oven and warming drawer, and beverage refrigerator. The center island appears to be floating due to the undermount lighting on the metal accent kickplate. Backlighting on the open shelving, and up-and-down lighting, contribute to the different moods that can be set, whether working or entertaining. The pantry, as well as the space under the banquet seating, provide generous storage space. An elliptical style fan and light finish this kitchen that is functional while serving as an artful space.
