Woodmere Whole House Renovation

Guests are greeted by an oversized 9-foot arched wood door in the entry, with the arched design repeated in passageways to the rest of the home. Details like the tongue and groove vaulted ceiling, wood beam accents, and wood flooring with inlaid tile set the stage for the rest of the home.
The updated brick fireplace serves as a centerpiece joining the great room and dining space. Built-in bookcases surround the fireplace, and painted raised panels above the wood mantle provide an unexpected focal point.
The beauty of the great room can be found from floor to ceiling. The painted coffered ceiling brings great dimension and definition to the room, while still joining it to the kitchen. Sliding glass doors with retractable screens expand the visual space by connecting the outdoor living areas to the great room.
In the dining room, the eye is immediately drawn to the arched niche with an expansive set of custom built-in cabinetry.
The kitchen beckons memorable conversations and gatherings. The majority of the cabinets are a light cream shade, with sage-colored cabinetry used at the island. The stove hood is custom made and surrounded with custom stone molding. The floors, as in the rest of the home, are engineered wood planking.
Immediately grabbing your attention in the master bathroom is the barrel shaped accent wall in the curb-less shower. The frameless shower doors provide a clear view of the accent wall. Twin vanities are situated across from each other, each with floor to ceiling cabinetry for convenient storage space.
A striking feature is the ceiling that is constructed of pre-finished and stained tongue and groove planking, with contrasting beams. A wall of sliding glass doors and retractable screens seamlessly connect indoors and out.
The extensive outdoor living space was added to the existing home. A dining space, living area, summer kitchen, and wood-burning fireplace all beckon family and guests to make the most of Florida’s mild climate.
Steps away from the outdoor living area and master bedroom is the grand pool which includes a sun shelf that is ideal for lounging.

The Story

Most satisfied with the first renovation PSG Construction completed in the year 2000, these Winter Park homeowners asked PSG to renovate the same home in order to age in place.
The whole house renovation included a newly configured floor plan of 3,366 sq. ft that actually feels larger while meeting the couple’s current lifestyle. The front of the home was bumped out minimally, and the outdoor living space in the rear of the home was added. The homeowners can now anticipate fully enjoying their 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom home for many years to come.
