A stunning renovation of a kitchen, family room, office and foyer won PSG Construction First Place in the 2012 Parade of Homes in the Category of Remodeling, Interior Renovation.
Located in Maitland Club, the renovation made use of stone, wood, minimalist architectural features and cool blue accents that suggest a cool, retreat-like ambiance. The renovation consisted of opening up the kitchen, dining area and family room for more efficient use of the space.
Making a welcoming first impression, the open foyer was refreshed with a travertine and marble inlay floor.
The kitchen features glass-faced accents on several of the cherry cabinets, granite counter tops, stacked stone accents, sleek pendant lighting in a striking blue, concealed refrigerator, 48” Thermador range, and under-cabinet task lighting. The island provides additional storage space, and the beverage center adjacent to the kitchen area includes a sink and beverage refrigerator. The dining area neatly fits into a spacious bay that can easily accommodate large gatherings. Flooring in åthe kitchen and family room is Brazilian tiger wood.
Seamlessly flowing from the kitchen, the family room contains several outstanding features. The floating built-in entertainment center is constructed from maple, with storage below. The linear gas fireplace is accented with a glass tile front. Most distinctive is the raised ceiling accented with maple beams and up-lighting.
The office was also updated to make it a more efficient yet sleek work space. A non-functional closet was reconfigured into a storage/built-in bookcase unit constructed of maple, matching the custom-made contemporary desk.
The renovation provides this modest home with function and contemporary elegance that can be enjoyed on a daily basis as well as on special occasions.
