Second Award Received for Kitchen Remodel in 7,000 Sq. Ft. Home

Updated from October 2000 news release

The kitchen remodel that expanded a common 270 square foot kitchen to 675 square feet caught the attention of judges a second time when PSG Construction, Inc. won a MAME 2000 award on September 23, 2000. This past July, the project also won an Aurora Award in conjunction with the Southeast Building Conference.

“There were a greater number of entries than in past years and the competition has become more sophisticated. The bar has been raised,” notes MAME 2000 Chair Stephanie Henley. “To win an award under these circumstances speaks about PSG’s professionalism and credibility.”

PSG Construction, a Winter Park, Florida remodeling and new custom homes company, was selected for the “Best Remodel Project-Room” award. The MAME 2000 Awards is sponsored by The Sales & Marketing Council of the Home Builder’s Association of Mid-Florida, and recognizes all aspects and efforts of the home building industry.

Three existing rooms were transformed into one multi-function kitchen with old French European characteristics. Weathered antique barn beams, a farmhouse sink, custom designed limestone hearth, plaster ceilings, and granite countertops provide the Old World warmth the couple desired. A side-by-side 36″ refrigerator and 36″ freezer by Sub Zero® accommodate the needs of the family of eight. PSG Construction teamed up with Joan Des Combes, CKD of Architectural Artworks Inc. to deliver the desired results.
